Biggest Threats To Your Retirement; Health Care Expenses, Back Injury, Si Joint Dysfunction, Degenerative Disc Disease

I have spent over $7000 on a back injury since December 2012 (my age 58), 6 months of physical therapy, blood tests, MRi's, X Rays, multiple doctor appointments and continuing massage therapy (which is actually cheap compared to what these costs would be in America). I recently found out I have degenerative disc disease, sacroiliac joint dysfunction and osteoarthritis. I am semi retired (unemployed) and the symptoms from this damage to my spine and Si joint started all of sudden in December of 2012 after years of computer work sitting too much plus carrying supplies walking with a backpack to my condo (over the last 7 years I would walk 3-5 days a week several kilometers with heavy loads). Take care of your back people... I have no health insurance, lost my contract photoshop production art contract job last May 2012 and live overseas given I can't find work in America that pays a living wage with health insurance benefits (employers don't want to hire older people with the higher premiums for health insurance and especially now with many employers cutting hours to force people into part time work situations to avoid paying medical benefits).
(people don't realize how debilitating the pain and psychological effects of a back injury can be)

Health insurance at my age is so expensive for self/unemployed people. It's cheaper to live in Thailand, medical care here is less expensive (but not free or cheap) and the only way I can conserve what remaining savings I have left after living expenses with no income and huge losses in my IRA retirement savings the last year and half. Looks like I will have this pain and partial disability for the rest of my life, but I hope to work again. I live off whats left of my savings since losing what was probably my last shot at making a living wage 2 years ago.
