Rick Santorum is an evil amoral power hungry sanctimonious ego maniac that gets high on hate

If people could think without religious context or bias for one minute, they could see that Rick Santorum is an evil amoral power hungry sanctimonious ego maniac that gets high on hate, other than that, he is an articulate guy with a nice sweater vest... Albert Einstein, as smart as he was, studied his entire life time and concluded that we cannot know the mind of God, the infinite, invisible, eternal energy behind all existence. Republican Presidential candidate Rick Santorum, no Einstein, concluded that we can.  All we have to do is heed to the words of Jesus -Santorum is a self-appointed "Jesus Guy"-and to interpret those words in accordance with theological understandings selected by him, and those who agree with him,  from selected Evangelical Protestant and Catholic sources.
Then you will know exactly what God thinks about contraception, global warming, a strong military, states rights, women's rights, civil rights, trickle down economics, sex and everything else. Santorum's expressed belief is "America belongs to God." Which God?

He has totally misrepresented what Kennedy said and the meaning of that speech. Rick, you must have missed this part:

JFK; "I believe in an America that is officially neither Catholic, Protestant nor Jewish; where no public official either requests or accept instructions on public policy from the Pope, the National Council of Churches or any other ecclesiastical source; where no religious body seeks to impose its will directly or indirectly upon the general populace or the public acts of its officials, and where religious liberty is so indivisible that an act against one church is treated as an act against all." See that last part Rick. You are dead wrong. The concern at the time was that Kennedy, being Catholic, would be taking orders from the Pope and then imposing the Pope's wishes on everyone. He's saying, No, all religions are free, and equal and that no elected official should follow instructions from a religious leader concerning policy. That certainly doesn't mean that people of faith are not allowed to participate , express their views and vote their conscience. It's ridiculous to suggest it. Here's the deal Rick, anyone, believer or otherwise, is encouraged to participate as a citizen and express their views as a citizen. That means realizing that when you come to the table of public discourse you have to argue the merits of policy based on facts and principles we hold in common. Quoting the Bible as if your personal interpretation gives your opinion some divine weight that others don't have, just won't cut it

Sarah Palin the Face of Evil

Whats really sad is that we still have a big group of Americans that think Palin is relevant and continue to follow her like those that followed Jim Jones and drank the kool aid. As long as Fox "news" and others continues to put this freak show on the air these Palinist will believe the propaganda and never see the truth that she is a wolf in sheep's clothing, that she is the face of evil.

Heart Surgery, Viagra, Healthcare Costs Thailand

Here in Thailand I can buy Viagra for $2 a pill and have heart bypass surgery for $12,000 at a world class hospital in Bangkok (that's less by 2/3's of what your co-payment would be on medicare or a 80/20 private insurance plan in USA). The lawyers, health insurance, medical device makers and pharmaceutical companies run the corrupt health care system in America and will continue to gouge the citizens as long as the politicians they are in bed with continue in office.

Martial Law in America 2012; Obama Signs NDAA

You now have no right to habeas corpus in America: NDAA enables the President to accuse anyone, even American citizens, of terrorism while imprisoning us without an iota of evidence or any hope of trial. For everyone that believes Obama is really interested in human rights and doing the right thing, Wake Up: “I'll show you politics in America. Here it is, right here. 'I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs.' 'I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking.' 'Hey, wait a minute, there's one guy holding out both puppets!'” Bill Hicks 1961-1994.

WAKE UP AMERICA!

But here's a question for you, why do we still have asinine religious beliefs, maybe another way to keep people in the herd and thinking a righteous god exists and their vote counts? Doesn't matter which party is elected, they don't care about the people, they got their deal, i'ts all a big show, they are all puppets of  the same master, WAKE UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!

Failure of American Capitalism & Social Economic System

If capitalism and the social economic system in America is so great why can't I find a job at age 56 (age discrimination) and why do I have to have a job to get affordable good health insurance? Being unemployed I have to choose to either pay for housing and food or super expensive health insurance in America (decent health insurance rates for people over 50 are costing $1000's a month now). So if I have a major illness I will have to go bankrupt and loose all my savings. This is the great American Capitalist System, when we would rather spend trillions on teaching our young people to be soldiers instead of doctors, nurses, teachers and entrepreneurs? Because we place more emphasis on defense and building war machines, what are we defending, the right for Halliburton to win the war in Iraq? And charging people so much money to go to medical school or college while pharmaceutical companies price gouge, lawyers make millions in malpractice suits, and corrupt politicians make millions from special interests and special deals after they leave office, this is the wonderful reality of capitalism and our wonderful democratic system? How's that working out for you?

Some Perspective Please for 2012

My Unexpected Perspective; Health Care Reform, Politics, Sarcasm, Self Righteousness

I have no allegiance to either party in America, but want to find solutions to fix the system. I'm interested in lowering defense spending, training people to be doctors, nurses, teachers or entrepreneurs instead of soldiers. Creating jobs, taking care of our old people, reasonably priced health insurance, trying to fix or reform or social systems. Getting rid of greedy corrupt politicians and corrupt corporate leaders that seem to be ubiquitous now days.

I was never really a politically active person, but once the health insurance reform (or health care reform) debate starting taking off with the 2008 elections, that really got my attention. One of the main reasons I left the US was the high cost of medical insurance. As a self employed person, my medical insurance costs just kept going up and up every year. To the point where I had to decide whether to start depleting my savings, go without coverage or find a better option. Finally I decided I had no better choice (given my job prospects after my business slowed and being over 50) so, I moved to Thailand in Jan of 2006. The medical and dental here is 1/4 the cost as the US and very good quality care. Plus the cost of living is low and I don't need a car with excellent public transportation (so no auto insurance or car payments either). As a US citizen living in Thailand for almost 5 years, It dawned on me a couple of years ago, I realized some unexpected benefit of perspective (not say it's the correct or right perspective, but some perspective).

In these 5 years, I've watched American politics from afar on this health insurance reform debate and all the major issues, through my perspective here and discussions with many international expat friends here, I continue to be in shock and embarrassed how our country has become totally polarized and the venomous attitudes between the two parties, which is common place now. I thought we were the "United" States of America and now it seems, we have become the "Angry Hateful Revengeful States of America". The "I got mine too bad for you" States of America, the "Polarized States of America."

Instead of trying to create, now we are destroying our self's. Instead of creating goodwill towards men (and women), we have hatred and contempt for those with other religious, social or political ideas. No empathy, tolerance or even attempts at understanding someone else's point of view, only self righteousness creating polarization (internally and internationally)

This polarization manifests itself through sarcastic, hateful, angry political and social commentary that perpetuates the problem. This kind commentary is a means of judging and belittling others, how is this going to move things forward? This kind of venomous hateful thinking serves no higher purpose; it builds no one up. Is it possible to really move forward as civilized human beings as long as we continue to operate from a position of superiority, self righteousness, "every man for himself", anger and hate, justifying this archaic way of thinking? I think not...
